Full Gospel House of Refuge has chosen a new pastor! On Sunday, January 1st at 11:00am, the church will be hosting a luncheon to welcome Pastor Eddie and his family to Full Gospel House of Refuge.

In lieu of a traditional service, we will begin with a few words from our new pastor and follow up with a luncheon in his honor.

Before joining us here at Full Gospel House of Refuge, Brother Eddie had been the pastor at Newport Church of God since 1997. He and his wife, Kristi, have spent the last twenty-five years ministering to the people of Newport and beyond with many different types of outreaches and other work for the Lord.

The years that they were at Newport they prayed for bigger, and better facilities so that they could do more of God’s work.

“We were limited at Newport and couldn’t really do all the things that we wanted to do for God and his people. God has answered our prayer and opened the door for us in the Eastgate area to do a greater work for Him.”

Pastor Eddie’s vision for Full Gospel House of Refuge is to see it grow for the whole family, with church functions for all ages. He feels very blessed to be the new pastor and is ready to get started building the church into a powerhouse for God.

The Church is in Transition…

Full Gospel House of Refuge is currently in a transition phase with Pastor Robert E. Cox resigning as pastor effective May 1, 2022.

The Board of Trustees has already begun to move forward as the Board starts the process of interviewing potential replacement candidates.  The Board anticipates the interview and selection process for a new pastor will take approximately two months to complete.

At this time, there are open elder and overseer positions available as well. After a new pastor has been selected and approved by the church members, the new pastor will then fill the vacant elder and overseer seats.

In the meantime, the current senior leaders and church members are leading the services and preaching God’s Word to the Body of Christ.  We ask that you join us in prayer for the Church leadership team, that they can nominate a new Pastor who will be a good fit for our church that our church members can whole-heartedly approve.

Even through our transition period, we are still welcoming new visitors and pray that you will join us for worship.  We are currently holding services on Sundays with Bible study beginning at 1:00pm and the church service following at 2:00pm. We look forward to worshipping the Lord with you!

We love you and pray God’s blessings upon you,

Your friends in Christ
