We would like to give a special thanks to Mary Peace for the women’s clothes donation.  The clothes are hanging in the Fellowship Hall, and are free to any of the ladies who would like them.  Any remaining items will be donated to the church yard sale.

Also, the Care & Share Outreach program is planning a clothing giveaway in March.  If anyone would like to bring in any clothing items, shoes, jackets, or scarves for the event, you can leave the items in the Fellowship Hall.  More details about this event will be announced soon.

We would like to remind everyone about our “fill the freezer” drive to help those in need.  We’ll continue to accept donations for the next few services for anyone who is still interested in giving.

The church is making changes to its ministries this year in an effort to align the ministries with our fiduciary responsibilities.  To start, we are announcing the appointment of Karen Thoma to the Outreach Ministry Manager/Event Planner position.  ALL Outreach ministries, such as feeding and clothing the needy, the street ministry, and the jail ministry will fall under this new position.

We will be brainstorming to get the church as a whole better organized, and will plan to address all church ministries soon.  A meeting will be set up at the end of this month to give the ministries guidelines and a direction the church would like to see for each one.

In the mean time, feel free to reach out to Karen with any questions or concerns you may have.  She currently operates as the FGHR webmaster, and is looking forward to helping the church in other capacities.

February is “fill the freezer” month!

So that the church may continue helping families in need of groceries, we would greatly appreciate everyone who’s able to bring small packages of hamburger or chicken to any of our services throughout the month.

Just give your meat item(s) to one of the ushers when you arrive, and they will get it to the freezer immediately.

Thank you to all who are able to support this special ministry that strives to take care of those who are less fortunate.
